My work: Album layout

To see the layout upclose:

As promised the full version of the album I made for little Jilian. The parents bought the album and let me keep the extra copy as a hard copy of my work. I used the "get 1 album free" coupon code they always have in Yahoo mail and the discount for MyPublisher.

There are over 200 photos and only one week to do it in. It was insane. But I got through it and I'm happy with the results. I did the layout myself and some graphics were put in. Hopefully Jilie will love these years to come.

Biggest AW: I'm a Maggie Bride!

Maggie Sottero is the designer of my beautiful wedding gown. I'm very proud of the originality of my dress. I can't wait to wear it again at my after wedding photoshoot. I better get the best usage on the most expensive dress of my life.

The best part...I'm right smack the first bride. I didn't even realize that this was on there until one of bride told me. Well several of them did. Too bad no photographer recognition. It was done by my talented photographer Ed Pingol Photography of course. When I initially submitted the photo to be a Maggie bride it had his web logo but I guess it was cropped out. So just that everyone knows it's him: Ed Pingol.

Anyways here's the link that it's on:

More photos of my dress:

My fave pictures of me in it

And look it matches the lace

Thank you Maggie Sottero site and Ed Pingol Photography.

My work: Wedding Inspiration Board 1

I LOVE natural colors. And when you pair them up with something bold like a purple like fuschia.. it gives this modern, urban, chic look. I love how it looks romantic and sophisticated. You really can pick up color scheme from anywhere. Color scheme was inspired by a GAP Billboard. Sorry no picture to prove I didn't dream this up. The only think I can claim is putting the collage together.

DIY: How to make your Pinata

Pinata's are always fun for kids at parites. I'm throwing a barrio fiesta (Philippines style) and there aren't any pinata that's custom that theme.

So that began my quest to see if I can make one on my own. I found these great instructions:

My inspiration... A bahay kubo (nipa hut) like this one:

I'll post pictures after I attempt one.

Great Finds: Etsy seller Luxe Deluxe

Sorry I'm a day late in blogging. Today I read one of my blogs and had to share this jewelry designer that was featured on Etsy Wedding. Had I known about this jewelry designer prior to getting married I would soooo buy her goods. They are so vintage and beautiful here are my faves:

Camille Necklace (green)

White Blush (silver)

Glittering Blossom (aqua)

Soleil Glow Earrings

Pink Sugar Blossom

I might just pick up a pair of these since they are on sale:
Turkish Lace

Funny I'm not a gold tone jewelry person but I love these. The seller of Luxe Deluxe calls one of her collection "Vintage Glam" and I think it perfectly fits the bill.

Personal Spiel: Pro-photography for Wedding Rehearsal

The above is a slide I made with the images of Kali Kraum that she had taken of our wedding rehearsal. I'm so grateful she was able to do these at the last minute for usand at a great rate. She provided excellent customer service, promptness, and gave me the images on a dvd. How awesome is that?!?! They will be used for Christmas gifts that's in the works.

I suggest getting a professional photographer for your wedding rehearsal if you can use the images to your advantage. It would totally justify your investment. If you have a family/friend that's into photography that would work too. Mr. Mad is used to taking the pictures and I'm the one editing them. We felt with all we have to do for the rehearsal and wedding it would be akward if we were the ones taking the pictures. Plus I want him in the photos not taking them. Mr. Mad argued with me at first but when we received the images we were glad we did.

Thank you Kali Kraum for capturing this special moment for us.

My work: Jilieland

I've been helping one of my BFF to set up for her daughter's 1st birthday. This is a momentous birthday for all especially the parents. Jilian is my goddaughter and I'm so happy to be a part of her very first birthday. Working with creative people like BFF Jackie and husband Wilbur is always a treat. I helped with jumping off the idea of the invite, did some signage, album layout, create cake pops (courtesy of the famous Bakerella), bounced off party ideas, and the goodie bags. The theme was inspired by Candyland, the game. So we came up with: JILIELAND.

And many more to come.

Great Finds: Exercise TV

I came home late yesterday and ate a later than usual dinner for my Tuesday routine. I like to eat earlier so I can digest by the time it's my aerobics class. I was really worked up with stress and needed to work out. Like DESPARATELY.

We have Comcast at home with ONDEMAND. I thought there has to be some exercise ONDEMAND. Sure enough! Exercise TV! I was ecstatic. I did the Biggest Loser Cardio Max w/Bob Harper, Zen in your Den (Yoga) w/Jennifer Galardi, and Dance w/me by Mia Caress.

And for you brides out there there’s bridal work outs:Bridal Body Burn, Bridal AbSession, and Bridal Shape Up. Check it out if you have it. I feel so sore today.. but no pain no gain.

Great Finds: Orchid Bouquet and Shawn Starr

I have two loves I wanted desperately in my wedding. Orchids and a slammin' photographer. I have been lucky to get both. The other day a blogger on the talks about how cymbidium (my all time favorite type of orchid) orchids are a common staple in weddings. This drilled me to research and keep an eye out for cymbidium bouquet with a personal flair to them.

I found this amazing picture by one of the best photographer around: SHAWN STARR. I have written him last week for his permission and he has given me the ok to post this beautiful picture. You may click on the image to see the whole wedding teaser slide:

That bouquet is so unique and very tropical zen. I LOVE IT. But wait... There's more. These are a few more that express different type of wedding affair also taken by SHAWN STARR:

Soft and sophisticated

Classic and dramatic elegance

Light and airy

Contemporary with a modern touch

MAHALO SHAWN STARR for the images and your permission. Your work is beautiful. Makes me miss Hawaii.

Readers: If you're ever getting married or plan to take your engagement session on the islands of Hawaii he's one to look up. When I look at his pictures I feel the breath of the ocean. It's like hula, it tells the story.

Favors: Oh how sweet this is

For one of TheMAD's wedding favor we did sandalwood fans in a glass box. We found this site that offered them for $1.25 each and shipping was relatively cheap. The two above is from that site. I love nostalgic favors.
